Alcohol and Other Drugs Advisory Board CommitteesThere are four standing committees: Executive/Nominating CommitteeComprised of the chairs from each committee and is the policy-making branch of the Advisory Board. It performs the duties associated with Board membership and nominations. Community Awareness CommitteeHeightens awareness throughout the community regarding alcohol and other drug issues by participating in community events and maintaining contact with the media and collaborating with other agencies. They also coordinate the annual People Who Make a Difference Awards. Youth and Family CommitteeTwo main roles: 1) to receive feedback from clients and community members regarding treatment and prevention services, 2) to share this information with the full Board as well as the Alcohol and Other Drugs Services Division. Public Policy CommitteeReviews and studies public policy issues making recommendations to the full Advisory Board for submission to the Board of Supervisors on public policies related to prevention, treatment and recovery issues.
