Plan Check

New and Updated Information for Food Facility Plan Review

Keep checking the website for changes.

New

  • Plan reviewer is available Monday - Friday, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. No appointment necessary, first come, first served.
  • Pre-design consultation at the counter (not any longer than 30 minutes); arrangements for additional time and appointments may be made at the hourly rate.
  • Complete "Incidental" food facility plans only may be approved over the counter by the desk duty plan reviewer.

Contra Costa County Environmental Health is responsible for ensuring that all construction or remodeling of food and recreational health facilities conform to the requirements stated in the California Retail Food Code, California Health and Safety Code Part 7, Effective July 20, 2007.

Plan Check deposit fees are three times the annual permit fee. This includes plan check and all applicable inspections and consultations. An additional deposit fee may be required when initial deposit has been expended.

The initial fee for an "exempt facility" or minor remodeling plan check is $667.00. Each additional hour is $158.00 per hour.

You may submit your plans and fees between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. at 2120 Diamond Boulevard Ste. 200, Concord, CA. Please allow a minimum of 20 working days for plan check.
