STEMI Receiving Centers


STEMI Receiving Center (SRC): A hospital designated by Contra Costa County EMS with cardiac capabilities, (cardiac catheterization, laboratory and/or cardiovascular surgery), designed to provide rapid intervention for STEMI patients.

As of May 1, 2008 the following hospitals have submitted letters of intent with Contra Costa Emergency Medical Services to become STEMI Centers:
  • Doctors Medical Center San Pablo
  • John Muir Medical Center - Walnut Creek
  • John Muir Medical Center - Concord
  • Kaiser - Walnut Creek
  • San Ramon Regional Medical Center
The official STEMI program launch date is anticipated sometime in September 2008. A list of designated centers will be made available on this page at that time.
