Public Participation

The California Accidental Release Prevention (CalARP) Program regulations require Contra Costa Health Services to hold a 45-day public comment period for the completed Risk Management Plans. Contra Costa Health Services will have a pubic meeting on a Risk Management Plan if there is sufficient interest from the community. Contra Costa Health Services also must have a 45-day public comment period for the preliminary audit findings and will hold public meetings to discuss them, if there is sufficient interest from the community.

The Industrial Safety Ordinance requires Contra Costa Health Services to have a 45-day public comment period and public meetings for the completed Safety Plans and the County's preliminary ISO audit findings.

Contra Costa Health Services will consider all written comments and make changes, when appropriate, in either the Risk Management or Safety Plans or in the audit findings. Contra Costa Health Services will respond to all written comments in writing.

Contra Costa Health Services will hold public meetings after a Major Chemical Accident or a Release, or where there is a public concern.
