Public and Environmental Health Advisory Board Roster
Art Hatchett of Hercules was appointed to PEHAB in 1993 to represent volunteer agencies. He is a Community and Housing Program Manager with the Greater Richmond Interfaith Program. Art is involved in care and housing for the homeless and is particularly encouraged by opportunities for the faith community to expand its involvement in health services programs. He is also interested in healthcare for special populations and in chronic disease prevention.
Bessanderson McNeil of Richmond was appointed to PEHAB in 1996 as an At-Large member representing West County. She is a Health Administrator at Rubicon Programs Inc. and is concerned about prevention of chronic disease and about residents having adequate access to healthcare.
Bonita Woodson of San Pablo was appointed to PEHAB in 1998 as an At-Large member representing West County. She is a Community Relations Specialist at Brookside Hospital who is interested in promoting wellness and global health. Bonita is enrolled in the Managerial Leadership and Organization Development Masters degree program at the John F. Kennedy University School of Management.
Clyde J. Trombettas of Martinez was appointed to PEHAB in 2003 as an At-Large member representing the general community. He is a safety engineer and is interested in the environmental and community impact of industry in Contra Costa County. He is a member of the PEHAB environmental health committee.
Jeffrey Ritterman M.D. of Oakland was appointed to PEHAB in 1996 to represent the private medical community. He has been a Physician and Cardiologist for more than 20 years in the Richmond area, and he is interested in environmental health and justice. A member of the Center for Health Advisory Board in North Richmond, Jeffrey has worked on medical relief projects in Southern Africa, Central America and Chile.
Margaret Stauffer of Pittsburg was appointed to PEHAB in 2003 to represent the East County community At-Large. She is Program Director of The Wellness Community and is interested in residents' access to health care, as well as in East County environmental health issues.
Marj Leeds
of Martinez was appointed to PEHAB in 1997 as an At-Large member representing East County. She is an Engineer with Shell Chemical who is interested in environmental health. Marj also represents PEHAB on the Hazardous Materials Commission and serves as liaison between the two bodies.
Mary Lou Laubscher of Concord was appointed to PEHAB in 1997 as an At-Large
member representing Central County. She is a retired Community Center Executive
Director who is interested in bringing needed services to Central County, particularly
through her involvement with PEHAB and the Monument Community Partnership.
Mary Rocha of Antioch was appointed to PEHAB in 1993 to represent the interests of families and children. She is a former Antioch City Council member who is interested in services for children and families as well as health and minority issues. She enjoys grassroots work with non-profit agencies serving East County, and she joined PEHAB "because of my interest in health issues but also to make sure East County was well represented."
Nick Rodriguez of Oakley was appointed to PEHAB in 1996 to represent community members and especially consumers. He is interested in senior health and homeless issues, as well as preventing overuse of pesticides and tobacco use by teens.
