Promoting Smoke-Free Families Collaborative

The Contra Costa County Promoting Smoke-Free Families (PSFF) Collaborative, funded by Contra Costa First 5, brings together community partners committed to working with families, childcare providers and others to create smoke-free environments for all children, especially those 0-5 years of age. We do this through collaborative activities.

What Services Does the PSFF Collaborative Provide?

Education

The PSFF Collaborative provides information updates on the harmful effects of secondhand smoke, especially on children ages 0-5. Information in multiple languages, providing suggestions for creating smoke-free environments for children, is also available. In addition, tobacco cessation resources for Contra Costa are available.

Training

PSFF offers a three-part training for community based organization staff to build information and skills for working effectively with parents and caregivers to reduce secondhand smoke exposure for children ages 0-5.

Educator Support

The PSFF Collaborative offers networking opportunities and professional support for County and community-based organizations interested in reducing secondhand smoke exposure.

Awareness Campaign

The PSFF Collaborative operates a countywide community awareness campaign that makes available messages, videos, posters, and signs promoting the importance of promoting smoke-free homes, cars and care environments for children ages 0-5.

Who Can Join the PSFF Collaborative?

The PSFF Collaborative is available to anyone interested in reducing the harmful effects of tobacco exposure to Contra Costa County children ages 0-5.
