Therapy AssistantMonthly Salary Range: $3,874 - $4,709The PositionThe Contra Costa County Health Services Department is offering an excellent career opportunity for qualified individuals interested in Therapy Assistant positions. The Department currently has two (2) vacancies in the Rehabilitation Therapy Services Unit. The current vacancies may be assigned to the Contra Costa Regional Medical Center in Martinez or to a regional Health Center in Richmond or Pittsburg, CA. Therapy Assistants perform non-complex treatment procedures and patient related activities as specified by a licensed therapist. Typical duties include: assisting patients with activities related to development of strength, endurance, therapeutic exercises, transfer training, prosthetic training, splinting, and goniometric measurement; modifying treatment techniques based on patient’s record and inpatient care conferences; and preparing, maintaining, and cleaning equipment, supplies, and clinic areas. The employment list established as a result of this examination may remain in effect for six (6) months and may be used to fill future vacancies in the California Children’s Services program of the Public Health Division. Minimum QualificationsLicense: Possession of either 1) A license or limited permit as an Occupational Therapy Assistant issued by the California Board of Occupational Therapy or, 2) a current license as a Physical Therapy Assistant issued by the Physical Therapy Board of California. (Weighted 100%) The Human Resources Department may change the examination steps noted above in accordance with Personnel Management Regulations and accepted selection practices.
