Regional Medical Center > Volunteer > Layette Project for Newborns
Layette Project for NewbornsThe Layette Project has been an on going community service for over 30 years. Its purpose to provide new clothing for needy newborns has not changed. In fact, it has become the signature project of the Contra Costa Regional Medical Center Auxiliary. Local community organizations and individuals use their time and talents to provide handmade baby afghans, receiving blankets, sweaters, caps, rattles, books, and other baby items. Some groups have an annual baby shower. The Auxiliary Volunteers collect and assemble the layettes. The nurses on the Newborn Unit give out up to 200 layettes a month to mothers who need them for their babies as they take them home. Contributions are always needed and appreciated. Bring all donations to the Gift Shop or Information Desk in the Main Lobby of the Hospital.
