Contra Costa Public Health Division

Our mission is to promote and protect the health and well being of the individual, family and community in Contra Costa.

  • We give special attention to those communities and populations most at risk for poor health outcomes and those most affected by environmental inequities.
  • We use a broad spectrum of strategies and an array of services to accomplish our mission.
  • We do this as a part of an integrated health system.
  • We define health to be the state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity (World Health Organization definition).
