Black Infant HealthBlack Infant Health (BIH) is a case management program for African American pregnant women & mothers. BIH is implemented through a subcontract with Brighter Beginnings. The program is designed to modify individual and environmental risk factors associated with infant morbidity and mortality as well as to increase community awareness and mobilization to respond to problems of perinatal health.
Who is Eligible for BIH?BIH serves African American pregnant women and mothers, over the age of 18, who reside in East and West Contra Costa County. The program also provides support and parenting skills groups for new fathers as part of the BIH Role of Men Program.
