Homeless Count 2009

Contra Costa County wants to collect good baseline data to further understand the causes of homelessness and design effective responses. To collect this data, Contra Costa County conducts a count of unsheltered homeless people every two years. This year the count will be held at 6 a.m. January 28, 2009 at three sites in the county: one in East County, one in West County, and one in Central County.

We are currently looking for volunteers to help with the count. Volunteers will be required to attend a training session before the count. To sign up for a training session and to volunteer at the count, please contact Rachel Goldman at rachel@homebaseccc.org. The cut off date to register is January 20, 2009.

The training options are:

Date and Time: January 22 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. OR January 23 from 12:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
