California Statewide Immunization Information System

In an effort toward creating statewide continuity in the use of immunization registry, Contra Costa Immunization Program is partnering with the Statewide Immunization Information System or California SIIS.

Mission

California SIIS is a collaboration of immunization registries that ensures the secure, electronic exchange of immunization records to support the elimination of vaccine preventable diseases. Note: The term "SIIS" refers to the entire Statewide Immunization Information System enterprise; that is, the regions and the state working together with their complementary roles and responsibilities to improve immunization coverage and practice.

Statewide registry

SIIS is working to develop an integrated, secure, readily-accessible statewide network of computerized immunization information systems to make each child's full immunization history available to providers and other authorized users, such as schools, foster care, and juvenile detention centers. Ultimately, the goal is to integrate all ten regional registries into a statwide system.
