Progress Report

Community Services & Supports Progress Report - May 2008

Background

In November 2004 California voters passed Proposition 63, the Mental Health Services Act (MHSA). The initiative is designed to transform the public mental health system. The MHSA includes several components of strategies and services that are being rolled out over several years by the State Department of Mental Health. One of the first components, Community Services and Supports, is the first major infusion of new funds into the public mental health system.

After an extensive community input and stakeholder planning process during 2005, a three-year MHSA Community Services and Supports (CSS) Plan was developed, approved locally, submitted to the State Department of Mental Health and approved at the state level. We are now implementing that Plan. This is a required progress report that Contra Costa Mental Health submitted to the State Department of Mental Health covering the period of January 2007 - December 2007. The attached report is a required progress report that Contra Costa Mental Health will submit to the State Department of Mental Health covering the period of January - December 2007. BEFORE that submission, we are making this report available for public comment.
