Council for Perinatal Health

The Council for Perinatal Health was founded in 1994 to facilitate system wide program policy, decision-making, and clinical interventions to improve perinatal outcomes in Contra Costa County. The Council is a collaborative effort of the following Contra Costa Health Services program and divisions: Family, Maternal and Child Health Programs; Contra Costa Health Plan; Community Health Assessment, Planning & Evaluation; and Alcohol & Other Drug Services.

Our goal is to promote and improve perinatal health in Contra Costa County.

Health Forums

The Council sponsors forums twice a year for multidisciplinary providers throughout Contra Costa County. These forums offer opportunities for providers to network, share resources, and become more informed on various issues that impact perinatal outcomes. A diverse range of topics have been presented at the forum including:

  • Perinatal HIV/AIDS
  • Domestic Violence
  • Cultural Diversity
  • Healing the Healers
  • Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome
