Medi-Cal Perinatal Outcomes Project

The Medi-Cal Perinatal Outcomes Project (MCPOP) was created as part of Comprehensive Perinatal Services Program (CPSP) evaluation and quality assurance efforts, in cooperation with the Contra Costa Health Plan (CCHP). Perinatal providers submit individual client-tracking forms to CPSP and this information is compiled in the MCPOP database. More than 20 perinatal provider teams contribute to the database. Information is collected primarily on Medi-Cal-eligible, low-income women. CPSP and non-CPSP providers are encouraged to participate.

MCPOP supports surveillance efforts, quality assurance & improvement, advocacy & education, technical assistance, resource development, and case management activities. Providers receive confidential reports, which detail client outcomes, and general reports are created for surveillance and quality assurance activities.
