Free Workshop to Train Volunteers on Shelter Management

The City of Antioch and the American Red Cross will be sponsoring a free "Disaster Shelter Operations Training Workshop" on Saturday, June 10, 2006 from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m., at the Antioch Senior Citizens Center. (Second and E Streets in downtown Antioch)
This workshop is designed to train volunteers to help manage and setup Emergency Shelters throughout the community of Antioch in the event of a disaster. In the wake of natural disasters such as "Katrina", "The winter storms of 2006 in the Bay Area" and the potential "Big One", we may need to provide this support to our neighbors or ourselves. This is a great opportunity to perhaps help others that cannot help themselves.
