Seasonal FluCDC Update on Seasonal Flu Vaccine - Oct. 14, 2009 Getting a seasonal flu vaccine is an important way to protect yourself from seasonal influenza. The best time to get seasonal flu vaccine is in October-November. There are no seasonal flu cases being reported in the county right now though that may change. The flu season often peaks in February or later so you can still get the vaccine in the winter months and even as late as March and be protected. Check with your health care provider first about getting vaccinated. If you are having difficulty obtaining a seasonal flu vaccine, check this website for updates. We continue to urge people who are over 65 years and older, people with underlying health conditions, pregnant women and children under 2 years old to get the seasonal flu vaccine.
