Contra Costa Behavioral Health Board Seeks New Member

The Contra Costa Behavioral Health Board is accepting applications to fill a vacancy in the At-Large Alternate seat. The Behavioral Health Board consists of 15 volunteer members, all of whom are appointed by the Board of Supervisors.

Eligibility
Applicants must be at least 16 years old and live in Contra Costa County. Individuals with lived experience or knowledge of the behavioral health system, including those who engage with community members living with mental health or substance use conditions, are strongly encouraged to apply.

Commitment
Advisory Board members serve three-year terms and meet monthly. Members are also expected to participate in subcommittees, which meet monthly or every other month. To encourage participation from across the county, meeting times and locations may vary. Currently, the Board meets on the first Wednesday of each month at 4:30 PM at 1025 Escobar Street, Martinez. All meetings are open to the public.

The advisory board provides a unique opportunity to directly influence how Contra Costa County addresses mental health and substance use needs. Members help shape policies, program planning, quality improvement, workforce development, equity initiatives, evaluations, and budget decisions.
