EMS Vital Signs Dashboards
Our Emergency Medical System responds to approximately 104,000 incidents and transports approximately 81,000 patients annually. There are 10 First Responder Fire Agencies and three transporting agencies that respond to medical calls. There are eight hospitals within the county limits. Our patients are also transported outside the county to neighboring hospitals.
We are creating the EMS Vital Signs dashboards to communicate with our community and our partners about the health and operation of our system. The different parts of an EMS response are explained below. We have broken the response into 4 segments and are creating dashboards for each. As they come online, they will be added to the list below. This site will be continually updated with data from our providers as they respond to 911 calls from our citizens and visitors. The links to the dashboards are at the bottom of the screen.

Someone Calls 911 |
A call taker uses a scripted process to find what the problem is and what is needed. They provide pre-arrival instructions as necessary |
A Dispatcher sends resources as soon as enough information is collected to know what and where to send |
A fire engine, and/or an ambulance and sometimes police are dispatched |
EMS arrives at the patient’s location and gains access to the patient |
If needed, the patient is transported to the most appropriate hospital |
Once at the hospital, the EMS crew transfer care to the hospital staff |
The patient is now in the care of the hospital |
