Applications

To obtain a permit for a cannabis operation, you must follow the application and inspection process.

1. Complete a commercial cannabis health permit application and submit the applicable fee to Contra Costa Health's Environmental Health program.
2. Your application is reviewed.
3. Once Environmental Health has determined that your application is complete, they will conduct an onsite permit inspection.
4. Unannounced inspections are done afterward.

Cannabis businesses must reapply for a new health permit annually before expiration on June 30th.

For Non-Franchise Hailing Businesses

Non-franchise refuse hauling businesses, whether they are either collecting and transporting waste or just transporting waste, must submit the following:

• The appropriate application
  • Collecting and transporting application
  • Transport only application
• Copies of valid driver's license for all vehicles operators
• Valid California registration cards for each vehicle
• Performance Bond
• Fee schedule

Permits are valid for one year and must be renewed annually. Permitted vehicles must pass inspection every year.

If approved, Contra Costa Health will schedule a vehicle inspection to ensure compliance. Vehicles that pass will be issued health permit decals that must be affixed to each vehicle so they are readily visible (rear and sides of vehicle).
