Community Advisory Committee (CAC)
What is the Community Advisory Committee (CAC)?
Contra Costa Health Plan (CCHP) created the Community Advisory Committee (CAC) to help members have better health care experiences.
CAC Members will allow diverse groups to give their input about health care issues. This will shape CCHP’s policies and decision-making. It will help CCHP to:
- design programs and services for different cultures
- know which health education topics to focus on
- communicate with and reach members better
- ensure services are accessible
- improve health equity
What do CAC Members need to do?
CAC Members will learn about health plan operations and topics from different CCHP departments. CAC Members will then give feedback to help make changes that will improve the member experience and promote health equity.
CAC members will need to commit to being on the CAC for 2 years. Each year, there will be 4 meetings to join. Member will get $50 gift card for each meeting they join.
Who can be a CAC member?
CCHP Medi-Cal members can be CAC members. CAC Members can also include IHSS Providers of Medi-Cal members, Fee-for-Service Medi-Cal members, caregivers of children, and foster youth. They will reflect the diversity within the plan population.
