The Addiction Medicine Track provides a structured, longitudinal curriculum of didactic learning, clinical experiences, and professional development preparing interested residents to provide evidence-based care for patients with substance use disorders (SUDs) in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

 At the end of their first year, R1s can apply to this track. One or two interested residents are accepted.

 Components of the track include:

  • Professional development and scholarship:

  • Clinical rotations in:

    • Addiction Medicine

    • Infectious Disease

    • Healthcare for the Homeless

    • Away at a dedicated addiction medicine site

  • Longitudinal experiences:

    • Working with an addiction medicine mentor

    • Option to work in a CCRMC Quality Improvement or Population Health initiative relating to SUD

    • Integration of addiction medicine principles in continuity clinic
