Program Description

Central County Child & Adolescent Services is a children’s outpatient mental health clinic based in Concord and serves areas ranging from San Ramon to Martinez. The clinic primarily serves racially, ethnically, linguistically, sexually and gender diverse children and youth (5-18 y.o.) with Medi-Cal insurance, and their families. Children have moderate to severe emotional difficulties which impact them in home, school, and community settings.

Interns can expect to provide individual and family therapy, conduct initial clinical intake assessments, participate in case consultation with staff, have collateral contact with community agencies, and complete appropriate record-keeping/progress notes. Doctoral students will also complete approximately 1-3 psychological assessment batteries. There is a minimum of 4-5 hours of supervision and training-related meetings each week: 1 hour individual supervision, 1 hour Case Conference, 1 hour Didactic Seminar, 1 hour Special Topics seminar, and 1 hour Group Supervision for Assessment.
