Program Description

West County Child and Adolescent Services (WCCAS) is an outpatient mental health clinic located in San Pablo, serving children and youth aged 5 to 18, along with their families, throughout the West Contra Costa County region. Our client population is richly diverse in terms of race, ethnicity, gender, and sexual orientation. We deeply value diversity within our workforce as well as in our clinical practices and training programs.

Our clinical services include comprehensive bio-psychosocial-developmental assessments with DSM-5 diagnoses, individual, family, and group therapy, crisis intervention, psychiatric support and medication management, school and community outreach, consultation, and case management. WCCAS approaches care from a strengths-based, culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and team-oriented perspective.

We also offer Wraparound services, which include family partners, mentors, and other family and parent support services designed to address the needs of youth within the context of their families and communities. While most services are provided in the clinic and school settings, home-based services may be offered when appropriate.

Training opportunities are available in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), play therapy, family therapy, and other trauma-informed approaches such as Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), as well as developmental, dyadic, and group therapies, depending on trainee interests.

We especially encourage applications from bilingual and culturally diverse trainees and interns.
