We recommend sexually active people with multiple partners get tested for sexually transmitted infections (STIs) every 3-6 months. Testing is the only way to know for sure if you have an STI! If you are diagnosed with an STI, tell each partner with whom you have had sex in the previous 60 days to get tested.

We encourage sexually active people to practice safer sex and talk to their loved ones about the importance of safer sex. Using a barrier method, such as a condom, reduces the risk of spreading infections.
