Beginning January 15, 2025, Contra Costa Health, in collaboration with CCCSO Community Warning System (CWS) and industry partners, will begin to provide SMS Text and or email notifications for Level 1 hazardous materials incidents in Contra Costa County. This free service delivers Community Advisory Messages to inform the public of non-emergency events according to the Hazardous Material Incident Notification Policy. Standard message and data rates may apply, and message frequency varies.

Opt-in by texting "CCHEALTH" to the number 21423. To-opt out, reply STOP to any message.

To receive Emergency Messages through the Community Warning System, you must also sign up for that service separately.

The Community awareness message is supplementary and should not replace other emergency measures. Technology limitations or external factors may impact notifications. Contra Costa County is not liable for inaccuracies, missed alerts, or actions taken based on this service. Your personal information will be used solely for Community Awareness Messaging and will not be sold or shared except as required by law.

To receive email messages, you will need to create an account using the link below.
