Martinez, CA

This facility (formerly known as the Tesoro Refinery, Ultramar Golden Eagle Refinery, Tosco Avon Refinery, and Phillips Avon Refinery) is a renewable fuels plant located in the United States. The facility was purchased by Marathon in 2018 and as of 2022 is co-owned in a joint venture by Neste.

The facility will process approximately 48,000 barrels (1 barrel = 42 gallons) of fresh renewable feeds per day into renewable diesel, naphtha, and propane for commercial purposes, and potentially renewable aviation fuel. The facility stores flammable mixtures, anhydrous ammonia, aqueous ammonia, and hydrogen sulfide above threshold quantities (TQ) in different units.
