Lactation Support at CCHP

Breastfeeding is a special way to feed and bond with your baby. Whether you’re a new parent or not, Contra Costa Health Plan (CCHP) is here to support you. We offer breast pumps and support from trained lactation consultants who can answer your questions and guide you through your breastfeeding journey.

Breast Pumps

Breast pumps are available at no cost to CCHP members. A breast pump can help you continue breastfeeding after going back to work or school, or if your baby has trouble latching. To request a breast pump, talk to your provider. You can also visit the Breast Pump Application page. Our breast pump partner will contact you and your doctor to get this started.

Lactation Consultants

Lactation consultants are trained professionals who provide breastfeeding support and education to new and expecting parents. Here are some of the things they can help you with:

• Checking baby weight
• Latch issues
• Milk supply
• Feeding schedules
• Returning to work
• Premature birth
• Connecting to other local resources
• And more!

CCHP covers up to three lactation consultant visits to help you feel confident and supported in your breastfeeding journey. Below is a directory of our contracted lactation consultants. You can contact them directly to schedule an appointment. You may also ask your provider to refer you, and a lactation consultant will follow up with you.
