Health Plan members have the rights to get medical services in a language they can understand. These rights include being able to request interpreter services free of charge. Contra Costa Health Plan (CCHP) discourages the use of family members, friends or minors to interpret or translate materials.

We have interpreters available who know many languages, including sign language. So next time you see a doctor and need an interpreter, ask for one. All CCHP providers offer free interpreter services to members. Some providers have bilingual staff to provide language services. You can contact the provider directly by phone for the latest information.

If you need interpreter services over the phone to help with speaking with the doctor's office (for example, to schedule an appointment), pharmacy, or other type of medical provider or facility, call 1-877-661-6230, Option 7 (TTY 711).
