Lead Prevention - Tips & Complaints
Submitting a Lead Exposure Hazard Complaint
Common lead hazards people can report include:
-
Peeling or chipping paint: Particularly in homes built before 1978, peeling or chipping lead-based paint can release lead dust or chips.
-
Workers/Companies without a lead-work certification: Individuals and companies are required to have the appropriate certification to safely perform any renovation activities involving lead.
-
Lack of proper containment/disposal: Workers are required to use plastic tarps for containment of the work area to contain lead hazards during activities involving lead hazards.
-
Improper lead work activities: The use of heat guns, high temperature, and/or sand blasters to remove paint is not allowed when doing lead related work activities.
